Gravity
Though many of us think Gravity just pulls us down, it is really deeper than that. Gravity is a force that attracts a body to the center of the earth. Not just down, but to the center. Huge difference. Similarly, at Cornerstone our youth ministry’s goal is to foster a positive, affirming, yet challenging environment where our students can experience the force that attracts them to the center of our faith… Jesus Christ.
Confirmation
Our Confirmation class runs from mid-fall to late-spring on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am. Emphasizing the foundations of the Christian faith as a preparation for baptism or confirmation, our 6th through 8th graders enjoy an engaging, active, and experiential time of growing toward maturity.
Missions
At the heart of what we do at Cornerstone is engaging the community to be a better place. Our youth participate in local and regional mission projects from helping pack homeless food bags to week-long trips to do physical enhancements to homes.
Fun
We believe spiritual formation happens over the bridge of relationship. So, much of what we do is fellowship with each other, with others in the church. Because of this our youth are active in choir, church-wide missions, and leadership.
Sunday School
Youth Sunday school meets nearly every Sunday at 9:15 am in the Family Life Center. Typically there are discussion based lessons in biblical themes that are relevant to our youth.
Sunday Lunches
Every now and then Sunday after church our youth enjoy a free lunch and a fun activity. It’s a time to just let lose and have a blast, where we get to know each other outside of bible studies and church activities.
Special Events
From annual Christmas parties to nights out, we do our best to provide an atmosphere where our youth can connect with each other and be real.
